Bio

Wesley Ethyn Bowers, or WEB, is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist whose signature style blends vibrant, hyper-detailed abstraction with sculptural metalsmithing and abstract expressionist painting. Based in Asheville, North Carolina, WEB has cultivated a unique artistic language rooted in meditative flow, esoteric symbolism, and a fusion of energetic street-art aesthetics with meticulous sacred geometry.

WEB’s practice is characterised by "maximalist precision," driven by the formal challenge of filling every available space—a visual phenomenon known as “Horror Vacui.” Their labyrinthine compositions unfold across traditional canvases and organic wooden substrates, utilising high-saturation acrylics, hidden imagery, and intricate line work to explore complex narratives and the interplay between cosmic energy and internal psychological landscapes. This same intensity carries into their jewellery and metalwork, where processes of piercing, forging, and colourful enamelling mirror the dense patterns of their two-dimensional pieces, transforming fine art into tactile, wearable experiences. Their signature coral-inspired motif and rich textural contrasts further define their jewellery practice.

Primarily self-taught, WEB has refined their metalsmithing through targeted workshops and is currently enrolled in the professional jewellery programme at Haywood Community College. They are an active member of the River Arts District Artists in Asheville and the Haywood County Arts Council, reflecting their commitment to the regional arts community.

WEB’s work has been exhibited across western North Carolina, including at Pink Dog Creative and the Haywood Handmade Gallery, and featured in regional publications such as Rapid River Arts & Culture Magazine and Mountain Xpress, as well as on WLOS TV. Their paintings and jewellery reside in private collections both domestically and globally. They currently maintain a studio practice in western North Carolina, continuing to blur the boundaries between fine art and functional ornament.
